Thesis Statement
As a result of the Vietnam War, the U.S. government has heavily regulated the media's depiction of war to protect and continue its war policy and foreign agenda. Fearful of being hindered by an unsupportive public, the government took steps that the Gulf War would, ostensibly, be a casualty-free, victorious affair for the U.S. The success of such media-spin would, inevitably, question the transparency of media coverage of future wars.
